Punsanda Conventional Punkalasa - I

“Punkalasa” which means a pot of plenty is a ritual set of sacred items used in traditional Sri Lankan ceremonies, especially in auspicious events such as laying of a foundation of a new building. This entire collection of ritual items symbolizes blessings, prosperity and merit. This set by Punsanda Nidan Wasthu consists of 36 carefully selected items while each item reflects symbolic and spiritual importance which are supposed to invoke blessings of health, wealth and prosperity.

Among the items included in this Conventional Punkalasa is a copper plate with sacred versus that were apparently used by King Dutugamunu. This is used In rituals to sanctify spaces, ask for divine protection and ensure success in any new venture.
